* Rasoolillah(SAW) said: "There is no gift better and more vast (that you may be given) than patience."

* ‘Abdullaah Ibn ‘Abbaas(RA) narrated that Rasoolillah(SAW) said: “Five matters result when five things happen:
If people break their covenant with Allaah, He will send an enemy against them;
If they rule by other than the Law of Allaah, poverty will spread among them;
If they become deceptive in trade, Allaah will deprive them of crops and they will be struck with famine;
And if they withhold the payment of Zakaah, they will be struck with drought.” [At- Tabaraani]

* Narrated 'Abdullah (bin Mas'ud): The Prophet said, "Whoever takes a false oath to deprive somebody of his property will meet Allah while He will be angry with him." Allah revealed: 'Verily those who purchase a little gain at the cost of Allah's covenant, and their oaths.' .........(3.77) Al-Ash'ath came (to the place where 'Abdullah was narrating) and said, "What has Abu 'Abdur-Rahman (i.e. Abdullah) been telling you? This verse was revealed concerning me. I had a well in the land of a cousin of mine. The Prophet asked me to bring witnesses (to confirm my claim). I said, 'I don't have witnesses.' He said, 'Let the defendant take an oath then.' I said, 'O Allah's Apostle! He will take a (false) oath immediately.' Then the Prophet mentioned the above narration and Allah revealed the verse to confirm what he had said." (Bukhari)

* Rasoolillah(SAW) said: "He who alleviates the suffering of a brother...God will ease his...suffering on the Day of Resurrection. He who finds relief for one who is hard pressed, God will make things easy for him in the Hereafter, and he who conceals (the faults) of a Muslim, God will conceal his faults in this world and in the Hereafter." (Muslim #1245)

* Zayd b. Thaabit and Ibn Mas'ood(RAA) narrate that Rasoolillah(SAW) said: "May Allaah brighten the face of a man who hears me and then relays to another who has not. It impossible that a carrier of knowledge is not himself knowledgeable, or that the carrier of knowledge will deliver it to someone more knowledgeable. Three things purify the heart of a Muslim. The sincerity in working for the sake of Allah, taking-up the task of advising the rulers, and not departing from the group of Muslims."

* The Prophet Muhammad (SAW) said: "Shall I tell you who are the best among you?...The best of you are those who when seen are a means of Allah(SWT) brought to mind." (Tirmidhi)

* And His Messenger, , said: "The rights of a Muslim upon another are 5: Returning greetings, visiting the sick, following the funeral procession, responding to invitations, and offering "tashmeet" (saying "Al-hamdu-li-llaah") for one who sneezes." (al-Bukhari) Rasoolillah(SAW) said: "The person who is riding should offer Salaam to the one who is walking; and the one who is walking should greet the one who is sitting; and the smaller group should greet the larger one." (al-Bukhari, Muslim)
Rasoolillah(SAW) also said: "The nearest of people to Allaah are those who greet first." (Ahmad, Abu Dawud)

* Rasulullah (SAW) said “Anyone who wishes to have his means of livelihood increased and a prolonged life, should treat his relatives with kindness.” (Bukhari and Muslim).

* Narrated Abu Huraira: Rasoolillah(SAW) said, "There are three persons whom Allah will not look at on the Day of Resurrection, nor will he purify them and theirs shall be a severe punishment. They are:
A man possessed superfluous water, on a way and he withheld it from travelers.
A man who gave a pledge of allegiance to a ruler and he gave it only for worldly benefits. If the ruler gives him something he gets   satisfied, and if the ruler withholds something from him, he gets dissatisfied.
And a man who displayed his goods for sale after the 'Asr prayer and he said, 'By Allah, except Whom None has the right to be worshipped, I have been given so much for my goods,' and somebody believes him (and buys them)."
The Prophet then recited: "Verily! Those who purchase a little gain at the cost of Allah's Covenant and their oaths." (Ale Imran: 77) (Bukhari)

* "The Prophet Muhammad (SAW) once said to his companions: "Do you know who will go first on the Day of Resurrection to the shade of God?
(It will be) those who when given what is right accept it, when asked for something give freely and who judge in favour of others as they do for themselves." (Tirmidhi)

* Ibn-Abbas (RA) reports that Rasulullah (SAW) relates that Allah Ta’ala said : "Allah has written down the good deeds and the bad ones. Then He explained it [by saying that] he who has intended a good deed and has not done it, Allah writes it down as a full good deed, if he has intended it and has done it, Allah writes it down as from ten good deeds to seven hundred times, or many times over. If he has intended a bad deed and has not done it, Allah writes it down as a full good deed and if he has intended it and has done it, Allah writes it down as one bad deed."(Bukhari & Muslim)

* Rasulullah (SAW) was once asked: "Is there any kindness that I can do for my parents after their death?" He replied: "Yes,
you can invoke blessings on them, seek forgiveness for them, carry out their final instructions after their death, join ties of relationship that are dependent on them, and honor their friends." (Abu-Dawood)

* Hazrat Ma'qal bin Yasaar (RA) narrates, “Once I expressed my fears to Rasulullah (SAW) over 5 things in my life. I feared that I would be misguided from the correct path. The second was regarding my life. I feared harm or illness would befall me. The third was about my children, that they would suffer Deeni or worldly harm. My fourth concern was my wife, that she too may suffer physical or spiritual harm. The fifth fear I had was over my wealth, should there occur a loss of income or property. After listening to my fears, Rasulullah (SAW) taught me the following dua to be recited 3 times morning and evening, “Bismillahi ala deeni wa nafsi wa waladi wa ahli wa mali” (‘May the blessings of Allah be on my Deen, life, children, family and wealth.’) [Kanzul-Ummaal, Vol.2, P.636]

* Rasoolillah(SAW) said "(Too) much talk without mention of God produces hardness of heart, and the person farthest from God
is someone who has a hard heart." (Tirmidhi)

* Yahya related to me from Malik from Suhayl ibn Abi Salih from his father from Abu Hurayra that the Messenger of Allah (SAW) said: "The doors of the Garden are opened on Monday and Thursday. Every muslim slave who does not associate anything with Allah is forgiven except for the man who has enmity between him and his brother. It is said, 'Leave these two until they have made a reconciliation. Leave these two until they have made a reconciliation.' "

* Rasoolillah(SAW) said: "Avoid envy except in two cases: a person who God has given wealth and he spends it in the right way,
and a person who God has given wisdom and he makes his decisions according to that wisdom and teaches it to the others." [Bukhari, # 490]

* Rasoolillah(SAW) related a parable comparing those who obey God's commands to those who do not. He said they are like people who draw lots for seats in a ship. "Some of them got seats in the upper part, and the others in the lower. When the latter needed water, they had to go up to bring water (and that troubled the others), so they said, 'Let us make a hole in our share of the ship (and get water) and save those who are above us from being troubled.' If the people in the upper part left the others do what they had suggested, all the people of the ship would be destroyed, but if they prevented them, both parties would be safe." [Bukhari #673]

* Rasoolillah (SAW) said: "He who alleviates the suffering of a brother...God will ease his...suffering on the Day of Resurrection. He who finds relief for one who is hard pressed, God will make things easy for him in the Hereafter, and he who conceals (the faults) of a Muslim, God will conceal his faults in this world and in the Hereafter."[Muslim]

* Abu Hurayrah(RA) relates that Rasoolillah(SAW) said: “Allah(SWT) is pleased with three things from you and detests three others. He is pleased that you worship Him alone, not associate anyone with Him in worship and that you hold fast to the Rope of Allah and not be divided. The three things He(SWT) detests from you are futile gossip, scepticism and wasting of money” (Saheeh Muslim)

* Rasoolillah (SAW) said: "Whoever suffers an injury and forgives (the person responsible), God will raise his status to a higher degree and remove one of his sins." [Tirmidhi, Hadith 998]

Signs before the hour

bu Huraira reported Rasoolillah(SAW) as saying: The Last Hour would not come before the Euphrates uncovers a mountain of gold, for which people would fight. Ninety-nine out of each one hundred would die but every man amongst them would say that perhaps he would be the one who would be saved (and thus possess this gold).[Sahih Muslim: Book 041, Number 6918]

Abu Huraira reported Rasoolillah(SAW) as saying: The Euphrates would soon uncover a mountain of gold but he who is present there should not take anything from that.[Sahih Muslim: Book 041, Number 6921]

Abu Huraira reported Rasoolillah(SAW) as saying: The Last Hour would not come until the Romans would land at al-A'maq or in Dabiq. An army consisting of the best (soldiers) of the people of the earth at that time will come from Medina (to counteract them). When they will arrange themselves in ranks, the Romans would say: Do not stand between us and those (Muslims) who took prisoners from amongst us. Let us fight with them; and the Muslims would say: Nay, by Allah, we would never get aside from you and from our brethren that you may fight them. They will then fight and a third (part) of the army would run away, whom Allah will never forgive. A third (part of the army). Which would be constituted of excellent martyrs in Allah's eye, would be killed and the third who would never be put to trial would win and they would be conquerors of Constantinople. And as they would be busy in distributing the spoils of war (amongst themselves) after hanging their swords by the olive trees, the Satan would cry: The Dajjal has taken your place among your family. They would then come out, but it would be of no avail. And when they would come to Syria, he would come out while they would be still preparing themselves for battle drawing up the ranks. Certainly, the time of prayer shall come and then Isa (AS) son of Maryam would descend and would lead them in prayer. When the enemy of Allah would see him, it would (disappear) just as the salt dissolves itself in water and if he (Isa) were not to confront them at all, even then it would dissolve completely, but Allah would kill them by his hand and he would show them their blood on his lance (the lance of Isa).[Sahih Muslim: Book 041, Number 6924]

Mustaurid Qurashi reported: I heard Rasoolillah(SAW) as saying: The Last Hour would come when the Romans would form a majority amongst people.[Sahih Muslim: Book 041, Number 6926]

Yusair b. Jabir reported: Once there blew a red storm in Kufah that there came a person who had nothing to say but (these words): Abdullah b. Mas'ud, the Last Hour has come. He ('Abdullah b. Mas'ud) was sitting reclining against something, and he said: The Last Hour would not come until the people divide in- heritance and rejoice over booty, and then said pointing towards Syria, with the gesture of his hand like this: The enemy shall muster strength against Muslims and the Muslims will muster strength against them (Syrians). I said: You mean Rome? And he said: Yes, and there would be a terrible fight and the Muslims would prepare a detachment (for fighting unto death) which would not return but victorious. They will fight until night will intervene them; both the sides will return without being victorious and both will be wiped out. The Muslims will again prepare a detachment for fighting unto death so that they may not return but victorious. When it would be the fourth day, a new detachment out of the remnant of the Muslims would be prepared and Allah will decree that the enemy should be routed. And they would fight such a fight the like of which would not be seen, so much so that even if a bird were to pass their flanks, it would fall down dead before reaching the end of them. (There would be such a large scale massacre) that when counting would be done, (only) one out of a hundred men related to one another would be found alive. So what can be the joy at the spoils of such war and what inheritance would be divided! They would be in this very state that they would hear of a calamity more horrible than this. And a cry would reach them: The Dajjal has taken your place among your off- spring. They will, therefore, throw away what would be in their hands and go forward sending ten horsemen, as a scouting party. Rasoolillah(SAW) said: I know their names and the names of their forefathers and the color of their horses. They will be best horsemen on the surface of the earth on that day or amongst the best horsemen on the surface of the earth on that day.[Sahih Muslim: Book 041, Number 6927]

Hudhaifa b. Usaid Ghifari reported: Rasoolillah(SAW) came to us all of a sudden as we were (busy in a discussion). He said: What do you discuss about? They (the Companions) said. We are discussing about the Last Hour. Thereupon he said: It will not cone until you see ten signs before and (in this connection) he made a mention of the smoke, Dajjal, the beast, the rising of the sun from the west, the descent of Isa son of Maryam (Allah be pleased with him), the Gog and Magog, and land-slidings in three places, one in the east, one in the west and one in Arabia at the end of which fire would burn forth from the Yemen, and would drive people to the place of their assembly.[Sahih Muslim: Book 041, Number 6931]

Abu Huraira reported that Rasoolillah(SAW) said: The Last Hour would not come until fire emits from the earth of Hijaz which would illuminate the necks of the camels of the Basra.[Sahih Muslim: Book 041, Number 6935]

Abu Huraira reported that Rasoolillah(SAW) said: (The Last Hour would not come) until the habitations of Medina would extend to Ihab or Yahab. Zubair said: I said to Suhail how far these were from Medina. He said: So and so miles.[Sahih Muslim: Book 041, Number 6936]

Abu Huraira reported Rasoolillah(SAW) as saying: The Last Hour would not come until the women of the tribe of Daus would be seen going round Dhi al-Khalasa (for worship) and Dhi al-Khalasa is a place in Tabala, where there was a temple in which the people of the tribe of Daus used to worship the idol.[Sahih Muslim: Book 041, Number 6944]

'A'isha reported: I heard Rasoolillah(SAW) as saying: The (system) of night and day would not end until the people have taken to the worship of Lat and 'Uzza. I said: Rasoolillah(SAW), I think when Allah has revealed this verse:" He it is Who has sent His Messenger with right guidance, and true religion, so that He may cause it to prevail upon all religions, though the polytheists are averse (to it)" (ix. 33), it implies that (this promise) is going to be fulfilled. Thereupon he (Rasoolillah(SAW)) said: It would happen as Allah would like. Then Allah would send the sweet fragrant air by which everyone who has even a mustard grain of faith in Him would die and those only would survive who would have no goodness in them. And they would revert to the religion of their forefathers.[Sahih Muslim: Book 041, Number 6945]

Abu Huraira reported Rasoolillah(SAW) as saying: By Him, in Whose hand is my life, the world would not come to an end until a person would pass by a grave, would roll over it and express the desire that he should be in the place of the occupant of that grave not because of religious reasons but because of this calamity.[Sahih Muslim: Book 041, Number 6948]

Abu Huraira reported Rasoolillah(SAW) as saying: By Him in Whose Hand is my life, a time would come when the murderer would not know why he has committed the murder, and the victim would not know why he has been killed.[Sahih Muslim: Book 041, Number 6949]

Abu Huraira reported Rasoolillah(SAW) as saying: The day and the night would not come to an end before a man called al-Jahjah would occupy the throne.[Sahih Muslim: Book 041, Number 6955]

Abu Huraira reported Rasoolillah(SAW) as saying: The Last Hour would not come until a people wearing shoes of hair fight against you having their faces like hammered shields.[Sahih Muslim: Book 041, Number 6957]

Abu Huraira reported Rasoolillah(SAW) as saying: The Last Hour would not come until the Muslims fight with the Turks-a people whose faces would be like hammered shields wearing clothes of hair and walking (with shoes) of hair.[Sahih Muslim: Book 041, Number 6959]

Abu Huraira reported Rasoolillah(SAW) as saying: You shall fight in the hours to come against a nation wearing shoes made of hair and faces like hammered shields, with red complexion and small eyes.[Sahih Muslim: Book 041, Number 6960]

Abu Sa'id and Jabir b. Abdullah reported that Rasoolillah(SAW) said: There would be in the last phase of the time a caliph who would distribute wealth but would not count.[Sahih Muslim: Book 041, Number 6964]

Referring to Imam Mahdi Abu Huraira reported Rasoolillah(SAW) saying: You have heard about a city the one side of which is in the land and the other is in the sea (Constantinople). They said: Allah 's Messenger, yes. Thereupon he said: The Last Hour would not come unless seventy thousand persons from Bani lsra'il would attack it. When they would land there, they will neither fight with weapons nor would shower arrows but would only say:" There is no Allah but Allah and Allah is the Greatest," that one side of it would fall. Thaur (one of the narrators) said: I think that he said: The part by the side of the ocean. Then they would say for the second time:" There is no Allah but Allah and Allah is the Greatest" that the second side would also fall, and they would say:" There is no Allah but Allah and Allah is the Greatest," that the gates would be opened for them and they would enter therein and, they would be collecting spoils of war and distributing them amongst themselves that a noise would be heard and It would be said: Verily, Dajjal has come. And thus they would leave everything there and would turn to him.[Sahih Muslim: Book 041, Number 6979]

Abu Huraira reported Rasoolillah(SAW) as saying: The last hour would not come unless the Muslims will fight against the Jews and the Muslims would kill them until the Jews would hide themselves behind a stone or a tree and a stone or a tree would say: Muslim, or the servant of Allah, there is a Jew behind me; come and kill him; but the tree Gharqad would not say, for it is the tree of the Jews.[Sahih Muslim: Book 041, Number 6985]

Abu Huraira reported Rasoolillah(SAW) as saying: The Last Hour would not come until there would arise about thirty impostors, liars, and each one of them would claim that he is a messenger of Allah.[Sahih Muslim: Book 041, Number 6988]

Rasoolillah(SAW) said: The Dajjal would appear in my Ummah and he would stay (in the world) for forty-I cannot say whether he meant forty days, forty months or forty years. And Allah would then send Isa son of Maryam who would resemble 'Urwa b Mas'ud. He (Isa Christ) would chase him and kill him. Then people would live for seven years that there would be no rancor between two persons. Then Allah would send cold wind from the side of Syria that none would survive upon the earth having a speck of good in him or faith in him but he would die, so much so that even if some amongst you were to enter the innermost part of the mountain, this wind would reach that place also and that would cause his heath. I heard Rasoolillah(SAW) as saying: Only the wicked people would survive and they would be as careless as birds with the characteristics of beasts. They would never appreciate the good nor condemn evil. Then the Satan would come to them in human form and would say: Don't you respond? And they would say: What do you order us? And he would command them to worship the idols but, in spite of this, they would have abundance of sustenance and lead comfortable lives. Then the trumpet would be blown and no one would hear that but he would bend his neck to one side and raise it from the other side and the first one to hear that trumpet would be the person who would be busy in setting right the tank meant for providing water to the camels. He would swoon and the other people would also swoon, then Allah would send or He would cause to send rain which would be like dew and there would grow out of it the bodies of the people. Then the second trumpet would be blown and they would stand up and begin to look (around). Then it would be said: O people, go to your Lord, and make them stand there. And they would be questioned. Then it would be said: Bring out a group (out of them) for the Hell-Fire. And then it would be asked: How much? It would be said: Nine hundred and ninety-nine out of one thousand for the Hell-Fire and that would be the day which would make the children old because of its terror and that would be the day about which it has been said:" On the day when the shank would be uncovered" (158: 42).[Sahih Muslim: Book 041, Number 7023]

Narrated Abu Musa: The Prophet said, "Near the establishment of the Hour there will be days during which (religious) knowledge will be taken away (vanish) and general ignorance will spread, and there will be Al-Harj in abundance, and Al-Harj means killing." [Sahih Bukhari: Volume 9, Book 88, Number 185]

Narrated Abu Huraira: Rasoolillah(SAW) said, "The Hour will not be established till the buttocks of the women of the tribe of Daus move while going round Dhi-al-Khalasa." Dhi-al-Khalasa was the idol of the Daus tribe which they used to worship in the Pre Islamic Period of ignorance. [Sahih Bukhari: Volume 9, Book 88, Number 232]

Narrated Abu Huraira Rasoolillah(SAW) said, "The Hour will not be established till a man from Qahtan appears, driving the people with his stick." [Sahih Bukhari: Volume 9, Book 88, Number 233]

Narrated Abu Huraira: Rasoolillah(SAW) said, "The Hour will not be established (1) till two big groups fight each other whereupon there will be a great number of casualties on both sides and they will be following one and the same religious doctrine, (2) till about thirty Dajjals (liars) appear, and each one of them will claim that he is Rasoolillah(SAW), (3) till the religious knowledge is taken away (by the death of Religious scholars) (4) earthquakes will increase in number (5) time will pass quickly, (6) afflictions will appear, (7) Al-Harj, (i.e., killing) will increase, (8) till wealth will be in abundance ---- so abundant that a wealthy person will worry lest nobody should accept his charity, and whenever he will present it to someone, that person (to whom it will be offered) will say, 'I am not in need of it, (9) till the people compete with one another in constructing high buildings, (10) till a man when passing by a grave of someone will say, 'Would that I were in his place (11) and till the sun rises from the West. So when the sun will rise and the people will see it (rising from the West) they will all believe (embrace Islam) but that will be the time when: (As Allah said,) 'No good will it do to a soul to believe then, if it believed not before, nor earned good (by deeds of righteousness) through its Faith.' (6.158) And the Hour will be established while two men spreading a garment in front of them but they will not be able to sell it, nor fold it up; and the Hour will be established when a man has milked his she-camel and has taken away the milk but he will not be able to drink it; and the Hour will be established before a man repairing a tank (for his livestock) is able to water (his animals) in it; and the Hour will be established when a person has raised a morsel (of food) to his mouth but will not be able to eat it." [Sahih Bukhari: Volume 9, Book 88, Number 237]

Narrated Abu Huraira Rasoolillah(SAW) said regarding the last hour that it will occur when:
1. When a slave woman gives birth to her master.
2. When the shepherds of black camels start boasting and competing with others in the construction of higher buildings. And the Hour is one of five things which nobody knows except Allah.  [Sahih Bukhari: Volume 1, Book 2, Number 47]
