Ma'dhoor(excused) state for wudu
This rulings falls into
areas of salaah and wudu and is discussed as such in the books
of Fiqh. A ma’dhoor person is one who:
a)
Has a wound from which blood flows continuously
b)
Has a sickness of being unable to control the flowing of his
urine or another invalidator of wudu (e.g. wind)
c)
Has a bleed (e.g. nosebleed) which is such that it does not
stop
d)
Is in Ist’aadha - bleeding irregularly out of ones habit
above the maximum limit
In all of the above cases if
a person does not have such time in which he could pray his salaah
with complete purity throughout then that person is considered
ma’dhoor (lit. excused) and has a special dispensation in this
regards.
In each of these cases the
cause of being ma’dhoor (e.g. continuous bleeding/urine) must occur
for the period of one prayer time (Cycle 1), without stopping so the
person is not able to read the full set of fard prayer for that
prayer time (e.g. 2 rakat fard for fajr, 4 rakat fard for dhuhr)
with complete purity he will then qualify as ma’dhoor. If within the
first period of salaah(Cycle 1) his cause of him being ma’dhoor does
not exist he must make wudu as per normal. However, if after
becoming ma’dhoor(after completing Cycle 1) the person does not
experience the same flow of blood (or the invalidator which caused
this state) but experiences even a short period in that prayer time
he will remain ma’dhoor. However, if he qualifies as ma’dhoor for
more than one prayer time (after completing Cycle 1) and then passes
though a whole prayer time without any of the causes which caused
him to become ma’dhoor (e.g. bleeding stops for the period of one
whole prayer time) he is then no longer ma’dhoor and must do wudu as
per normal.
The ruling for this person
is that the person should make wudu for the time of every prayer. In
his case his wudu will remain as long as the prayer time extends
for. So long as his wudu does not get invalidated by another cause
(e.g. a bleeding person breaks wind). he remain in a state of wudu.
Once the next prayer time
enters he must redo his wudu. For each prayer time the ma’dhoor
person will have to make wudu again as his wudu becomes null and
void and must be repeated in each prayer time. If a ma’dhoor person
made wudu in the time of fajr he can only read prayer with that wudu
until sunrise when the prayer time is over. The wudu of a ma’dhoor
person carries the same strength and validity as a normal wudu and
this person can read any number of salaah with this wudu.
